Privacy Policy

Reefkeel is built to be a private instrument. Your tank logs, test readings, dosing settings, and ICP results live on your device — they are never uploaded to us. We don't make you create an account and we don't track you. The only data we ever receive is what you actively choose to send us when you submit in-app feedback or email support, described below.

The short version

• No account. You don't sign up, sign in, or give us an email to use the app.
• No cloud. Your readings and tanks are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device database. They are not uploaded to us or anyone else.
• No tracking. Reefkeel contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• No background collection. Your tank data is never collected. The only information we receive is what you actively choose to send us through in-app feedback or a support email — and we never sell, rent, or share it, or use it to track you.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter — tank names and volumes, test readings (alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, nitrate, phosphate, temperature, salinity, pH), dosing settings and additive choices, ICP results, and reminders — is stored only in the app's local storage on your iPhone. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it.

Purchases

Reefkeel Pro is sold through Apple's App Store using Apple's in-app purchase system (StoreKit). When you buy or restore a purchase, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your name, card, or payment details. Reefkeel only receives a yes/no signal from Apple about whether you own Pro. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Notifications

If you enable test reminders, those notifications are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. No reminder data is sent to us or any server. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

When data leaves your device

The only times anything leaves your phone are entirely under your control:

• Purchases / restores — handled by Apple, as described above.
• Export — if you use the Pro CSV / PDF export feature, the file is created on your device and goes only where you choose to send it (e.g. saved to Files, AirDropped, or emailed by you).
• Contacting support — if you email us, we receive the contents of that email so we can help you. We use it only to respond.
• Sending in-app feedback — optional, and only if you open the feedback hub and tap Send. Details below.

Sending feedback

Reefkeel includes an optional in-app feedback hub. It stays dormant unless you open it and submit something. When you tap “Send” on a bug report, idea, or note, we receive: the feedback text you wrote; basic technical context to help us reproduce issues (your iOS version, device model, and the app version); an anonymous identifier (a random ID stored on your device, not linked to your name, email or Apple ID; it can persist if you reinstall the app) so we can follow up on the same report; and — only if you fill it in — the email address you provide so we can let you know when something ships or is fixed. This is sent to our feedback service at api.aiappnation.com and used solely to triage and respond to your feedback. We never sell, rent, or share it, and we never use it to track you or for advertising. If you never open the feedback hub, none of this is ever sent.

Children

Reefkeel is a hobbyist tool intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If Reefkeel ever adds a feature that changes how data is handled (for example, optional cloud backup), we'll update this policy and describe the change clearly before that feature is enabled. The "last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
